Shiflet Family Chiropractic No Longer

Well, today is the "official" last day of Shiflet Family Chiropractic. We opened this office on Jan 10, 2005. We are closing our doors today. As excited as we are to move forward, we will always be grateful for our first little office. I didn't take very many pictures in this office, I was going to take pics this week, but we had already started tearing it apart, and I've been pretty busy. So here are a few that I took recently.

This is our front desk area

Reception area

Looking down the hall from the front desk

One of our treatment rooms

Our therapy/rehab area

And electrical stim when you are really hurting!

This is our Report of Findings room....where you can look at your x-rays and learn exactly what is going on inside your body.

5 years seemed like an eternity when we opened our doors, and now it's gone...it's amazing how fast time flies. This office was a great learning opportunity. It was our first business on our own, we learned so much about billing, insurance companies and their policies, software, office procedures, taxes, you name it! We also had some amazing success stories in this office. We've helped so many people get off of their pain medications, we've helped babies reduce their colic and fussiness, and cleared up ear infections. We've helped children drastically reduce their asthma medication. We've helped people with migraine headaches, severe back pain, arm tingling, shoulder pain, leg & knee pain. We've helped improve the quality of life for many many people, and we are so grateful! We look forward to the new adventures that lie ahead! Truly, this will be a year for fresh starts!

So, I will be posting our new office pics soon, with the update on the crazy journey this new office has been! So for now.....So Long Shiflet Family Chiropractic!

Baby Braxie

My sweet little niece Melani came to visit with her brand new baby Braxton Spencer Boudreaux (Baby Braxie). We were so excited to meet and welcome the new addition to our family! He is a little doll, and smells soooooooooo good! It has been a joy to see Melani become a mother. She is so darling to watch with her new baby boy. The kids all ran around playing non-stop, while my mom, my sister, and myself all took turns taking over the baby and stealing all his baby suggie!
Melbel stealin' kissies!
Melani & Colby (cute cousins)!
(I can't believe how tall Colby is at 13!)

Lolo & Coco (proud aunts)!

Tyler with his cousins Colby and Zac (He LOVES those boys)!

My cousin Braxton happened to be in town the same weekend. Braxie has always been so fun, and charismatic, and just a treat to be around...so it was lots of fun to see him! (And it's no wonder why Meli named her baby after him....great guy....great name!)

Even when hims cryin', hims coooot! (Sorry, I baby talk even in my typing)!

Boredom can be Dangerous!

So, we've had a lot of sickies in our house over the past several weeks, and haven't really been able to do much....so we've been creating our own fun around the house. So, for example:

Warner (the tool man), took some time off from his busy football schedule to do some minor repairs around my house....

Katie buried her little brother in a sea of stuffed animals

The boys have kept themselves busy investigating why girls like what they like...for instance, Austin is trying to figure out the thrill of a barbie video game, while TJ is trying to tackle "why do girls talk so much on the phone!"

Tyler has determined that becoming a surgeon is ultimate goal

And last but not least, we decided to make a homemade safety video for Tyler of household dangers

Like I said...boredom can be dangerous!

disclaimer: No children were harmed while filming this video

Happy Birthday Bubby Al!

Even though my brother never reads my blog, I want to wish him a very Happy Birthday. We went over to my moms on Sunday to have a little party for him. We ate mud slide pie (his favorite), and I sang my cheesy bday song I had written for him, and played risk (which I won....woohooo! I dominated the world!) I love my brother....he is very intelligent, and does over 1,000 voices spot on (no I'm not one of those people that thinks that because he is my brother he can do impressions.....he really can do them perfectly!) my favorite of course is tweety bird and sylvester! He is an awesome individual, and I love you bubby! :)

My Mommy!

I just have to take a moment to wish my mommy a Happy Birthday! I love my mom more than words can say! She has always understood me, supported me, encouraged me, and loved me! She is beautiful, so smart, so spiritual, and full of so much good advice! She is my therapist, my cheerleader, my confidant, and my best friend! I am so lucky to have a mom like you! Thank you for all you have done for me, and taught me, and the example you set for me! I love you mommy! (Please don't ever cut the cord!)
